We are very pleased to be partnering with Chance Foster, a 15-year-old sophomore at San Luis Obispo High School. We loaned our sewing machines to Chance so he could continue to sew masks for kids in the community. His efforts will also be considered for an Eagle Scout status.
"I have been involved with Boy Scouts since I was in first grade. I have achieved every rank, and now I am working on trying to get the last and ultimate rank of Eagle Scout. I am hoping to finish the paperwork and interviews, and have a court of honor by this December," said Chance. "Scouts to me is about connecting with nature and learning good life skills, and being taught how to be a good leader, help people, and always stay positive."
Chance is thinking of joining the Navy and also attending Harvard Law school and becoming a lawyer.
Chance and his team have been sewing masks all summer. He partnered with Children's Resource Center to distribute the masks to families in San Luis Obispo County.
"They have traveling closets on trailers that bring school clothes and supplies to kids, and parents can get diapers for babies," Chance explained. "The Children’s Resource Network will be distributing our masks with their care packages and clothes that they give to families. They also have them available for families and kids to pick up at all of their locations."
